Let him know when people are sick so that he can call or visit them if they want him to do so, and add their names to the weekly prayer list. Call him at any time; with questions, with concerns, or with suggestions. If it’s important to you, it’s important to him!

• Every Wednesday at 5:30pm Orthodox Christians throughout San Diego gather at God’s Extended Hand, 1625 Island Ave., San Diego, CA 92101, to serve meals to the homeless and poor of San Diego. On Wednesday, December 12th, is our regular time to serve. Please, mark your calendars and plan on attending.

Dear Fellow Stewards and Parishioners,
The time has come to renew our stewardship responsibilities to our Church for 2012. We have planned а Stewardship Pledge Drive for Sunday, November 20th, 2011 following the Divine Liturgy. Please, join us to celebrate our continued commitment of our treasure, time and talent to God and His Church.
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Contributions need not accompany the pledge cards, but we do need the cards back as soon as possible to plan our 2012 budget.
Also, please keep in mind that your Continuing our Legacy promise (for the remodeling of the church property) is above and beyond your stewardship pledge for 2012.
We hope to see you in church on Sunday, November 20th for our 2012 Stewardship Pledge Drive and Luncheon.

On November 16th we commemorate: The Holy Great-martyr George
On this day we commemorate the translation of the relics of St. George, from Nicomedia, where he suffered at the time of Emperor Diocletian, to the city of Lydda in Palestine. The suffering of this wonderful saint is described on April 23.
Anticipating his martyrdom, St. George begged his servant to take his relics to Palestine, where his mother had been born, and where he had distributed his large estate to the poor.
The servant did so. During the reign of Emperor Constantine, pious Christians built a beautiful church to St. George in Lydda and,
upon the consecration of that church, the relics of the saint were interred there. Innumerable miracles have occurred from these miracle-working relics of St. George, the great-martyr of Christ.

Пред нама је време када ево опет имамо могућност да обновимо наше старатељство за Цркву нашу љета Господњег 2012. Недеља, 20. новембар, 2011, је назначена као недеља старатељства. Љубазно Вас молимо да нам се придружите те недеље када Вас молимо да наставимо старање за Цркву у облику давања новчаних прилога, помагања у облику рада при храму користећи Ваш таленат и време.
“Сваки по вољи свог срца, а не са жалошћу или од невоље, јер Бог љуби оног који драговољно даје.” 2. Кор. 9:7
Донације не морају да се дају у недељу, 20. новембра, али Вас молимо да донесете картице старатељства те да благовремено планирамо буџет за 2012. Подсећамо Вас да старатељство није исто што и Ваш прилог за реновирање имања, тј. наставак завештања, него је то редовни програм старања за Цркву.
Радујемо се молитвеном сусрету у недељу, 20. новембра, 2011.
16. новембра славимо празник Св. Великомученик Георгије
Овога дана празнује се пренос моштију св. Георгија из Никомидије у град Лиду Палестинску, где пострада у време цара Диоклецијана. Страдање овога дивног светитеља описано је под 23. априлом. Пред смрт своју умоли св. Георгије слугу свога, да му узме тело по смрти и пренесе у Палестину, одакле му и мајка родом беше, и где имаше велико имање, које раздаде сиромасима. Слуга тако и учини.
У време цара Константина буде сазидан у Лиди красан храм св. Георгија од стране побожних хришћана, па приликом освећења тога храма пренесу се у њ мошти светитељеве, и ту сахране. Безбројна чудеса догодила су се од чудотворних моштију св. Георгија, великомученика Христова.
